Related to this thread is this work from Computer Science Education
Research Group at The University of Adelaide:
"$6.9 million funding agreement with Department of Education and Training
to support K-12 Digital Technologies"

This is to further develop and conduct CSER's successful MOOCs on coding
and digital technologies:
<http://blogs.adelaide.edu.au/cser/the-cser-digital-technologies-moocs/>
Their "Think Create Code" MOOC for students was the origin for this work.
Linkers might find the computer language choice of Processing.js and
developing mostly graphical applications an interesting pedagogical
choice.
If you have an opportunity to listen to the lead researchers at CSER --
Katrina Falkner, Claudia Szabo, Nick Falkner -- then grasp the
opportunity.
