Extreme Market Capitalism does seem to be well past its "Best before"
date. The foundations of its decline probably lie in the unavoidable
fact that unlimited growth is only sustainable in an unlimited environment.

Market Capitalist dogma says it will work, then they'll keep it up until
it works.
