off topic, but may be of interest:

Canadians living near the US border experience a nasty and quite expensive mobile
phone situation. Their local cell towers are much weaker in signal strength than their
"bigger is better" neighbours to the south. Thus, without the phone user being aware,
their signal is pulled down into the US cells. They then receive phone bills for $100s
and sometimes $1000s because of the roaming charges incurred by this behaviour.
Not a problem for an island nation.
