A report on Digital Literacy and Learning in Initial Teacher Education, 
has been released by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA, March 
2017):

It seems to me, as a non-expert in the field of school teacher 
education, that the solution is quite simple: e-learning and blended 
learning can be used for basic teacher training. Equip each new teacher 
with broadband device and send them out to teach:
