There were some concerns expressed about the vulnerability of Scytl's 
system to a man-in-the-middle attack in 2015:

The NSW Electoral Commission responded that such an attack was unlikely 
due to the "high level of technical expertise" required.

But since then we have seen a technically sophisticated group, perhaps 
backed by a nation state, using technical means to try to influence an 
election.

The NSW Electoral Commission said the risk was no higher than from a 
"malicious postman replacing a postal vote". Perhaps this could be 
dubbed an "Pochta Rossii" attack. ;-)
