Many thanks to the several people who provided feedback, from both the link and privacy lists.
I've made substantial changes, a lot of it editorial, but some of it substantive. Some of the points are necessarily hedged, but I've now included an explanation of why it's difficult to make unqualified statements about some aspects of the project.
I'm using the case in a paper I'm writing. I may also submit it for publication, but I'm not sure where. The style falls between magazines like The Conversation, on the one hand, and more formal academic venues, on the other. Any further thoughts much appreciated!
