As the two closest charging points to my small country town are more than
80klm distant, in opposite directions, and all of the others are well over 100
klm away, this discourages local EV uptake. But there are two petrol stations
in my town.
In Germany, EVs made up 1.8% of new passenger car registrations last year,
whilst here in Australia our EV share of the market is around 0.2%. Everyone
seems to think we should do something to encourage EV uptake, but, what?
There’s 17 recommendations from 2019, but little gov action on the ground?

However, those two closest charging stations from here do seem switched on.
One that has arranged a listing is a caravan park with normal powerpoints and
the other one is a rather clever AirBNB operator. Maybe, we can look forward
to many businesses making similar free charging arrangements for customers?
