Interesting...  I see the website carries endorsements by Edward Snowdon ("Use anything by Open Whisper Systems") and Bruce Schneier, but Wikipedia seems to be the best place for Signal's history and technical assessments.  Involvement by Twitter et al always raises suspicion, and the security of the implementation is as important as the protocols in use, however:
