It’s been estimated around 20 per cent of all tech workers in Australia are contractors. Despite the critical role they play in filling gaps around the country, they just aren’t feeling the love. Australia has a new tech lobby group. Calling itself the Tech Council of Australia, the group boasts some high-profile tech heads at the helm: Atlassian CEO Scott Farqhuar; Tesla chair Robyn Denholm; AfterPay CEO Anthony Eisen; and Canva CEO Cliff Obrecht, to name a few. The Tech Council describes itself as the “unified voice for the sector” and says its mission is to shape Australia’s digital future.
