I have been noticing strong similarities with another stupidly
misguided project. The details are different, but I can't help feeling
the principles are essentially the same...

The problem with this submarine debacle, if I may make so bold, is that
there is no problem. What feels like "a problem" is an ongoing,
flexing, mutating, shifting pattern of capabilities, desires and
circumstances.
You can't solve it any way except the way a surfer "solves" a wave.
Successfully surfing one wave makes you more likely to surf the next
one well - yet at the same time the specifics of any one ride will
literally never be repeated. Sure a board is necessary - but it's
almost incidental to balance, skill, imagination, courage,
decisiveness... and choice of wave.
Regards, K.
