Very serious, I'd expect, given that he's one of the most respected
industry analysts in this field. (It's been close to 15 years since I last
dealt with him personally, but even all the way back then he was one of the
better industry analysts out there)
In the context of the article, he's also 100% correct - Microsoft simply
doesn't play in the SWG/SASE/NGFW space, and they have very limited
functionality in DLP/CASB and even XDR.
