Good luck with this, Karl .. you’re right, we should not need to login to any ABC resource.

Although, here: https://iviewsupport.abc.net.au/hc/en-us/articles/360003864996  we have:

“From mid-March, you'll need a free ABC Account to watch programs on ABC iview. Find out when you'll need to be logged in by reading the FAQ, When will my device or TV require log in to watch ABC iview?”

“If you use Fetch, Foxtel IQ or an older Smart TV, you won't need to log in. If your unsure about your Smart TV year / model, there's an easy way to tell if your TV can log in. If you don't see this screen (below) when you open the ABC iview app on your TV or streaming device, you won't need to log in to an ABC Account: ..”

The devices that can log in to ABC iview (snip)

Which seems to indicate that if you use an unusual browser, you bypass the iView log-in page?

If so, maybe problem solved?

I last wrote on 30 May 2021, and received a completely inadequate
reply.

You have provided no plausible explanation as to why you are forcing
the supposed benefits of registration on iView users that do not want
them.

You have provided no assurance that user data will not be collected
from those who do not want it collected.

Please discard this new system. Or provide it to those who register and
leave the old system available to others.
