Australia has one for-profit university. The others are non-profit, but 
they license their IP.

Disagreements over IP ownership are common at universities, and 
elsewhere, with spun off companies, as well as when key staff leave.

ps: I visited Cambridge University to see how innovation was handled and 
discovered they had not worked out the IP ownership, despite being in 
the business for hundreds of years. Their approach seemed to be creative
