Perplexity has been my preferred search tool for over a month now for
anything complex and it is brilliant. I'm sure it makes mistakes but I have
not spotted many. You can restrict its sources to research literature (it
uses Semantic Scholar). I think it will be threatened by ChatCPT which has
a suite of specialised associated tools. The only one I've used is
Consensus <https://consensus.app/search/> which uses the research
literature as its source and you can restrict your search by time of
publication just to get the most recent work. The problem is I'm usually
asking about things I know little about so it is difficult to spot mistakes.
