I will hold judgement until I can try the Apple Vision Pro. But so far
it looks like a rerun of Google Glass. The equipment is slicker looking,
but still large and clumsy, especially with the battery pack on a cable,
not shown in most photos.

The first part of the demo showed emulating a multi-screen desktop
setup. But this could be done cheaper and more comfortably with real
screens. Also I felt slightly seasick just from the demo, so I wonder
what the motion sickness is like with the real thing (I get queasy with
most VR headsets).

Microsoft HoloLens looks far more practical, with real Augmented
Reality. Apple is trying to emulate the AR by adding the virtual over a
video of the world.

Even the best VR & AR struggles for a reason to exist. If I was
designing molecules, or repairing a jet engine, then it could be useful,
but not for office, or home, use.

But then past Apple products have taken an existing idea, such as the
desktop metaphor, the mouse, the tablet computer, the digital music
player, or the smart phone, and turned them into popular slick products.
That might be the case with the Apple Vision Pro, but it looks to me
more like a Apple Newton, than an Apple Phone. ;-)
