Firstly, a prosaic response:
I actually had to buy an ISO standard the other day.
(ISO 24760-2:2015 - Id Mngt - Reference architecture and requirements)
It wasn't even for income-earning purposes. I'm finally completing an
article on what we got wrong with Id Mngt, and still keep getting wrong,
and I need to be able to quote reliably from it.
The pricing politics and policies are interesting. Prices for a
download of a PDF from ISO, SA and various other national standards
bodies were mostly in the range AUD 300-350. I picked Sweden at 240.
My second response follows, another libel about the Standards game.
