I imagine that some scammer has targeted ANU with emails to staff
after harvesting contact details or just the names of employees and
they send requests for people to buy gift cards. These requests now
look very realistic and appear to come from genuine people. I suspect
ANU has decided to prepend any incoming email with that warning
message as a result.

I know someone who was fooled by a request to their work email address
claiming to be from the "CEO" of the organisation with an URGENT
request. Unfortunately she fell for it the first time and bought some
gift cards, then when they asked for more she twigged... a new
staffer, trying to be helpful. Sad, but a lesson for many!

So, not you Stephen.
