(:-)....

I also read:  "Speaking at ANZ’s full-year results for 2024, Elliott told investors that the bank now has 7000 engineers developing and enhancing its software stack for its digital retail bank ANZ Plus and its mid-to-enterprise corporate offering ANZ Transactive - Global."

ANZ has 7,000 Software Engineers all hard at work?  Seven THOUSAND?  And the company has spent $2.5 BILLION on "platforms and tools" over five years?

Until very recently I had a couple of accounts at one of the smaller banks swallowed up by ANZ in its' pursuit of the big boys, but no more.  Their new online banking system is only accessible from an app running on a mobile 'phone, a domestic appliance generally not known for high network security and absence of spyware.  IOW no more internet banking.

And how anyone can run all their domestic accounting on a mobile phone is beyond me.

I presume the bank has thought through any legal complexities regarding responsibility for creating, verifying and testing software produced "with the assistance of" AI code generators, let alone by them.

I understand the new system incorporates an AI-driven "banking butler" and it's possible much of the "AI-written code" is fairly harmless stuff in the soft, human interface.  Nevertheless, I'm sure there are equally smart and motivated organisations in the world who are busy developing systems to upset the AI-banking applecart even as we speak.

Remember the old rule about Keeping It Simple?
