Universities also need to be more accepting of alternative pathways to 
skills and knowledge. As is done in vocational education, universities 
could offer course credit for work experience and prior learning 
elsewhere. At present this tends to be done ad-hoc at universities (I 
assess RPL applications having learned to do it at TAFE & uni).
