Dear stakeholders and advisers

We are pleased to inform you that the Australian Competition and 
Consumer Commission (*ACCC*) submitted the Final Report of the Digital 
Platform Services Inquiry (Inquiry) to Government late last week. This 
marks the conclusion of the 5-year Inquiry. The Final Report focused on 
three topics:

·recent international legislative and regulatory developments in markets 
for digital platform services and their impact on competition and consumers

·major developments and key trends in certain markets for digital 
platform services, and

·potential and emerging competition and consumer issues which relate to 
digital platform services.

As you may be aware, the ACCC requires a written direction from the 
Treasurer (or Assistant Treasurer) to publish Inquiry reports. As 
Government is in caretaker due to the election being called, we will 
update you on the publication of the Final Report in due course.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your engagement with 
us during the course of the Inquiry, without it our work would not be 
possible.
