"Modern developments in Land based active protection systems (APS) have
been effective in improving the self-protection of vehicles.
Collaborative systems can enhance the survivability of the team of
vehicles through a range of concepts such as extending the bubble of
protection beyond a single vehicle to multiple vehicles or improved
localisation or signature management. A key requirement of these systems
is that they do not adversely affect the capability of their peers and
that they function in environments that are dynamic and contested. The
rapidly changing nature of context information within APS also implies
that risk assessment of the operational and mission contexts is highly
dynamic and dependant on both the current contexts state and the status
of each agent that participates in the collaboration. This project aims
to develop algorithms, metrics for their evaluation and frameworks that
allow distributed systems to negotiate trade-offs between distributed
and interdependent capabilities."
