Rob

Hi

I'd be really interested in learning if there are specific Tok Pisin terms that you and your project people use for insects, and what the scientific names for them are. When I was there they quickly mentioned stik (stick insect), lip / lif (Leaf what - insect), and 'Queen Alexandra' I suppose (is there a word for it?).

But what is dunggi or dungki? It's a beetle with horns. Can you be more specific?

You might like to have a look at our Tok Pisin list where we hope to get to the bottom of things like this. Send a PLAIN TEXT email to
listproc at listproc.anu.edu.au and put SUBSCRIBE MIHALIC Rob Davis in the body.

Regards
John Burton
