Thanks for the considered replies on pasindia, especially the kalap nating

The US elections bring to my mind terms for things that have been boring us
stupid on TV lately (yes, even here in PNG).

Warkurai (not in Mihalic) - to stand up and talk at a meeting or rally.

Which regions is this known and used in? The source may be 'war cry'
(check?), noting that wo krai itself is a different term in TP. (Wo krai is
used, for example, by the Biangai for a special saying shouted out when you
have killed your enemy, each ancestral group having a distinctive one.)
