Folks
Just to remind everyone, copyright to Mihalic's dictionary was held by
Mihalic himself, and he passed this on to our project in the form of an
email explicitly saying this. My reply to him was that we would act in a
collective manner to revise his work and no one person would 'own' it.
What do people think? Should we form an incorporated association to continue
this work? If so, do we need advice on how to do this?

[My comment is:]
Mihalic was an active member of the Linguistic Society of PNG. How about
giving it the formal copyright with some arrangement for the practical
control to be in a committee whose members are John plus a couple others
involved in the project? If it's impractical to have it based in PNG because
of the lamentable lack of copyright laws in PNG, maybe the Australian
Linguistic Society could be the umbrella organization. Using such an
organization would help avoiding the expense and hassle of having a separate
legal entity.
