Schwartz (1962: 239) gives this as an example translated into 
English, "When I was born to my mother and father, they were still 
'cranky.' [This can mean 'insane' or 'foolish,' but in this context 
means 'backward.']"  Schwartz spell it cranky in the quote, but it is 
clear that he is referring to the Paliau Movement variant of Tok 
Pisin since he defines kranki in his glossary as "Confused, 
irrational, insane, foolish." (p. 411).
