mentions that he (with govt linguist) did the spelling reform for pidgin at 
the request of the PNG Dept of Education (c, 1956?)  see p. 76. The 
orthography they proposed based  on pronunciation in Madang area....says 
that their proposals formed the basis for present day spelling...
