Hi,

Yes, In Port Moresby, and the Highlands, bilum and basket are
not the same at all. The bilum is woven from string mage from
many bush materials, and animal fur, and more recently wool and
thread purchased in shops/tradestores. Whereas the basket is
almos always a rigid device with a cane frame into which fairly
stiff material is woven.
