Can anyone tell me if they know of any research on the emergence of Tok 
Pisin expressions for reporting speech and thought? It seems as if this 
domain of language, in addition to other metalinguistic expressions, 
has undergone important revision since the publication of the Nupela 
Testamen (1969).

Also, if anyone has examined Tok Pisin terms for affect, I would be 
very interested in knowing about that as well. I have been looking at 
how these domains have been back translated into the Bosavi language 
from reading the Nupela Testamen (starting with the 1969 edition, and 
including the later editions) thus significantly reshaping particular 
lexical and pragmatic domains of the Bosavi language.
