Dear College Members
 
Professor Elizabeth Deane, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education), has requested a
time when she might come and talk to College staff about ANU's Education
Innovation Agenda.  This will be a seminar type talk with questions. 
 
Education Innovation is a broad canvas.  To achieve realistic and
demonstrable change over 2008 an action plan has been developed.
Responsibility for development and delivery of the Action Plan rests with
the PVC (Education).  This plan focuses on four key project areas:
 
Course Descriptions:  development of consistent informative course
descriptions which emphasise learning outcomes and reflect the research
strengths and intellectual resources of the University.
Flexible learning/access:  identification of courses for innovative delivery
matched to student needs and allied to development of appropriate course
materials.
Learning enhancement:  strategies to support individuals and teams in
enhancing student engagement in the learning process with a particular
emphasis on the involvement with the research culture of the University.
The ANU Experience:  a broad plan to articulate what is done that uniquely
brands our students as excellent.  This project will document both student
learning and engagement initiatives at the ANU and the potential advantage
of accessing the University's unique research capacity.
 
The meeting will take place on:
 
TUESDAY, 3 JUNE at 2.00pm in SEMINAR ROOM D, COOMBS BUILDING.
