The Board of the ANU Pacific Institute would like to invite all 
Institute members -- that is, anyone at the ANU with an interest in 
Pacific research, training or outreach -- to attend a General Meeting on 
Friday 1 June, from 12-1pm in the Hedley Bull Lecture Theatre 1.

Some of the topics for discussion include:

    * What is the Pacific Institute?
    * What can the Pacific Institute do for me or my unit?
    * What funding opportunities are there available for individual or
      collaborative research, training and outreach in Pacific Studies
      at ANU?
    * What do members want from their Institute?
    * How often should we hold General Meetings?

We hope that you can attend the meeting but, if you can't and there are 
topics you want raised or questions answered, please write to the
