Oceania Now: A space of pure potentiality and agency.

A multidisciplinary showcase of contemporary artists from Pacific diaspora communities in Australia, CPAF returns to FCAC to explore the spiritual, physical, cultural and political dimensions of contemporary Pacific identity.

Showcasing arts practice from across the Pacific, the CPAF Community Day is a platform for both contemporary and traditional artists to present, perform and share their rich, unique stories.

Featuring an exciting line up including Radical Son and multi-award winning hip hop crewRaw & Rugged, and performances by Pacific artists from across Australia. As well as live art demonstrations including carving, a weaving and craft tent, artist talks and a Pacific Market Place.

Bringing together creative practitioners, community elders, students, academics and arts industry professionals whose work engages with the contemporary Pacific for a lively and focused discussion on issues relevant to contemporary Pacific arts practice in an Australian and international context.

Keynote speakers include Keren Ruki (Australia), Ema Tavola (Aotearoa/NZ) and Chuck Feesago (USA).

Resonance
The past resonates in every gesture we make as we keep time to the cadence of the present.
Resonance is an exhibition of Pacific artists who were asked to celebrate their individuality and their voice. Each stands confident in their convictions while harmonising with each other in the belief that every voice matters - each enriches the conversation of community.

Featuring: Naup Waup, Dan Taulapapa Mc Mullin, Kirsten Lyttle, Chantal Fraser, Chuck Feesago, Leuli Eshraghi, Anna Crawley, Cecilia Kavara Verran and Eric Bridgeman. Curated by Chuck Feesago.

Construction Piece Scores
As part of our inaugural CPAF Artist in Residence program, Ann Fuata will collaboratively develop a work based on ancient intercontinental ocean floor highways that are thought to stretch across the entire Pacific Ocean.

This new work aims to juxtapose new and re-imagined ocean highways through a process-based exploration of mapping, mark making, installation, sculptural objects and collaboration with invited guests.
