[ANU Pacific.Institute] Pacific Islands Field School Fundraiser

Dear Colleagues,

This year the Pacific Islands Field School will be running once again. In November and December 13 ANU students will be heading off to Hawai’i for three weeks to learn about and engage with local cultural production, development and cultural heritage.

Thanks to the College of Asia and the Pacific, each student will receive an individual grant to assist them in paying part of their personal expenses such as flights and accommodation. However, the group is fundraising to give thanks to their hosts in Hawai'i - with any extra money raised going to a communal fund for unexpected costs, transport for excursions etc.

In order to raise these funds, we have planned a ‘Silent Auction’ fundraiser and a raffle.  Students have collected an interesting array of items, from Pacific art and local wines to movie tickets, and more! Raffle tickets are $5 and silent auction items will sell for anywhere from $10 to $30 each. We will also be serving refreshments and hope to tell you a bit more about this year’s field school.

If you are interested in supporting the Field School but are unable to attend the silent auction, students will be selling raffle tickets at the CAP Student Space (opposite the CAP Student Centre on the ground floor of the Coombs Building) from 12pm – 2pm on Tuesday, 3 November and Wednesday, 4 November.
