Bougainville Veterans' Listening Project

In this seminar researcher Amie Kirkham  along with Bouganvillean civil society leaders Barbara Tanne and Rose Pihei will co-present the findings of a new report The Voices of Central Bougainville’s Unheard Veterans. Within Bougainville’s post-conflict environment there has been considerable progress towards unification and engagement of ex-combatant leaders. Yet, significant issues remain and ex-combatants require support to complete the transition to non-combatant roles and identities and to heal divisions with communities. The report captures the perspective and desires of war veterans and community members from Central Bougainville and suggests ways forward for veteran related challenges.
