[ANU Pacific.Institute] Regional Institutes Review - Individual submissions

Dear all,

This month, the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific will commence an external review of the ANU Regional Institutes.

The Regional Institutes have a significant role to play in advancing ANU's international strategic goals. They operate as a portal into the University for external stakeholders who have an interest in a particular country or region. As virtual hubs, the Institutes host a range of expertise from across the University, who support and initiate a wide range of international and domestic research and teaching collaboration and engagement activities.

As the first formal review of the Regional Institutes, the aim is to provide College and University Executive guidance and recommendations on the organisational structure, governance mechanisms, funding and purpose of each Regional Institute to ensure they are set up for success.

The Review Committee will meet with a number of internal and external stakeholders, however we would also like to extend the opportunity for you to provide an individual submission if you wish. We want to have your input and insights on any of the following areas:


  *   Opportunities and challenges for each Institute;
  *   Strategic objectives and broader aspirations as a leading centre (nationally and internationally) for research and teaching;
  *   The quality, scope, focus, direction and coverage of each of the Regional Institutes;
  *   Relevance of the each institute's activities in comparison with trends in the field and the performance of comparable regional/country institutes both domestically and internationally; and
  *   Future development opportunities for the Regional Institutes in terms of its resources, research and external engagement activities
