Newly Digitised collections

Climate Records
ANU Archives holds Colonial Sugar Refining Company Limited records<https://openresearch-repository.anu.edu.au/handle/1885/149426> from the 19th and 20th centuries documenting meteorological observations made at sugar mills and sugarcane plantations in Australia and Fiji.
The digitised portion of this collection includes 14 volumes, dating from 1882 to 1966. While early volumes record monthly weather data, later volumes give daily observations of rainfall, temperature and daylight hours.

Pacific Slides
A number of Pacific Research Archives<http://archives.anu.edu.au/collections/pacific-research-archives> collections contain slides taken by researchers between the 1940s and 1970s. The slides include images from anthropologists and geographers taken during fieldwork. Many of these slides contain images of Papua New Guinea, Fiji and locations across the Pacific. The digitisation of these slides has been undertaken as part of the Pacific Slides Project, which enabled access to over 5000 slides from the following researchers:
D'Arcy Ryan<https://openresearch-repository.anu.edu.au/handle/1885/186686>
Helen Groger-Wurm<https://openresearch-repository.anu.edu.au/handle/1885/173718>
Jim Specht<https://openresearch-repository.anu.edu.au/handle/1885/170636>
Herbert William Burkitt<https://openresearch-repository.anu.edu.au/handle/1885/173365>
Nancy Hitchcock<https://openresearch-repository.anu.edu.au/handle/1885/11>
Allan Flinders Gow<https://openresearch-repository.anu.edu.au/handle/1885/178263>
Lillian Hardman<https://openresearch-repository.anu.edu.au/handle/1885/165210>
Michael Young<https://openresearch-repository.anu.edu.au/handle/1885/178556>

ANU Theses Collection
Over the past two years, the ANU Library has been undertaking a digitisation project to make its entire collection of theses available online through the Open Research repository.
ANU Library has now digitised every available ANU thesis from 1954 to 2018!<https://anulib.anu.edu.au/news-events/news/anu-world-class-theses-collection-available-online>

Burns Philp and Co. Staff Record Cards
This collection contains staff information from the offices of Burns Philp & Co.,<https://openresearch-repository.anu.edu.au/handle/1885/148414> a major Australian shipping line and merchant operating in the South Pacific. The corporation expanded its presence in the pacific from 1889 with plantations in the New Hebrides and established offices in Melanesia, Fiji, Tonga and Samoa throughout the 20th century before it delisted from the Australian Stock Exchange in 2006. The collection relating to the head office in Sydney<https://openresearch-repository.anu.edu.au/handle/1885/148414> includes personal information from thousands of employees including date of birth, work ethic, pay and leave requests. They were digitised in response to regular requests from researchers in the region and the community. Staff cards from the regional branches and plantations are being digitised and will become available in the next few months.

Coming soon: Australian Bible Society Collection of Melanesian Bibles, pamphlets and grammars.
A collection gathered by the Bible society that includes some unpublished grammars from ANU researchers such as Tom Dutton, and bibles and pamphlets predominately from PNG. Collection is 360 items and is now being digitised.
