Public Lecture by New Zealand High Commissioner, Her Excellency the Hon. Dame Annette King: 18 March 2020.
In this talk, the New Zealand High Commissioner to Australia, Her Excellency the Hon. Dame Annette King, will draw upon her experience in health policy.  Having spent six years as New Zealand’s Minister of Health, including overseeing health policy and services to large Pacific populations, she has a long-standing interest in health policy, and has had regular engagement with the Pacific region throughout her career.

Dame Annette commenced duties as the New Zealand High Commissioner to Australia in December 2018. Prior to taking up this position she served as Deputy Leader of the New Zealand Labour Party and Deputy Leader of the Opposition from 2008 to 2011 and from 2014 until 2017.  She was a Senior Cabinet Minister in the Fifth Labour Government of New Zealand and was an MP in the New Zealand Parliament for 30 years.  Her portfolios included Health, Police, Transport and Justice.

This lecture will take place from 12.30 pm on 18 March in the Barton Theatre, Room 1.89, Crawford School of Public Policy.
