Countries around the world are looking for ways to protect their most vulnerable citizens from the economic shocks arising from COVID-19. In Solomon Islands, the National Provident Fund fast-tracked a solution in record time by allowing pension holders to withdraw from their superannuation fund.

Learn how they were able to leverage the recent digitization of their services, including an innovative airtime payment option, to respond quickly to this crisis.

This webinar will explore the processes that Solomon Islands National Provident Fund put in place to allow pension-holders to access funds swiftly, how they dealt with an unprecedented rise in enquiries and the role of partnerships in this project. It will run through a ‘checklist’ of actions that will allow organizations to move quickly using resources at hand to respond to the crisis now or in similar situations in the future.

It will feature experts including Mike Wate, the CEO of the Solomon Islands National Provident Fund; Sanjay B. Shah, Senior Consultant at PHB Development; and Isaac Holly, Financial Inclusion Technical Specialist at UNCDF.
