Background
The Hank Nelson Memorial Endowment<https://www.anu.edu.au/giving/support-us/leading-in-our-region/hank-nelson-memorial-endowment> was established by family and friends of the historian Hank Nelson to honour his memory and his commitment to Papua New Guinea (PNG). The Endowment now offers the third Hank Nelson Memorial Award,<https://www.anu.edu.au/students/program-administration/prizes/hank-nelson-memorial-award> of AUD$1000, for the best PhD thesis submitted by any student, internationally, on any aspect of PNG's history or society. The prize is not limited to ANU students.
Who can apply?
To be eligible for the Prize, the submission
* have been awarded a PhD between 1 April 2020 and 31 March 2022
* be focussed on PNG
* be at least 60,000 words in length
