_____________
We're excited to announce the upcoming Australia Pacific Youth Climate Dialogue (APYCD)<https://www.unicef.org.au/australia-pacific-youth-climate-dialogue> a fully funded, three-day event in Canberra from October 27 to 29, 2025, aimed at young climate leaders from Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific.
It seeks to empower youth to influence climate action agendas ahead of COP30 in Brazil and a potential COP31 in Australia and the Pacific.
* Event purpose and hosts: The Dialogue is hosted by UNICEF Australia, UNICEF Pacific, The Australian National University, and Western Sydney University, designed to foster youth leadership, knowledge sharing, and engagement with decision-makers on climate issues.
* Youth engagement and impact: It targets young people under 30, recognising their disproportionate vulnerability to climate change and their role as catalysts for solutions, aiming to amplify their voices in policymaking.
* Program structure and goals: The event will include peer learning, masterclasses, and advocacy, co-designed with a 11-person Youth Steering Committee (meet them here<https://www.unicef.org.au/australia-pacific-youth-climate-dialogue-youth-steering-committee>) from across the Pacific and Australia, intending to build a cross-national youth-led climate action agenda extending beyond 2025.
* Participation details: Applicants aged 18-29 from the region can apply by September 7, 2025; selected participants will be invited to join us in Canberra for the in-person dialogue and complete a preparatory online climate course run by ANU (more details here<https://iceds.anu.edu.au/study/professional-short-courses/climate-essentials>), with all costs covered.
We stand at a critical juncture, and the time to act is now. We need your help to amplify our message and rally support. Please share this with your networks and encourage youth climate leaders to fill out the Expression of Interest (EOI) form<https://apycd.unicef.org.au/Form/>.<https://apycd.unicef.org.au/Form/>
Thank you for your commitment and support.
Warm regards,
