Dear colleagues,
I am pleased to let you know of the opportunity for students to apply for the 2026 Hank Nelson Prize.
The Prize of AUD$2000 is open to:
* any PhD student, of any country
* who was awarded their degree between 1st April 2024 and 31st March 2026
* for a thesis that is of at least 60,000 words in length
* on any aspect of PNG’s history or society in which historian Hank Nelson was interested
This award was established and supported by family and friends of historian Hank Nelson to honour his commitment to PNG and his four decades of service in teaching, mentoring and scholarly research on PNG.
Please find further information on the prize attached, and please share this information with your doctoral students, colleagues and other networks to inform them of this opportunity.
