Dear Everyone,
Greetings from the Summer Institute of Linguistics (SIL- PNG), who is the host for the Linguistic Society of PNG Conference for this year. The Organizing Committee of the 2011 LSPNG Conference is inviting all of you to Ukarumpa (EHP). See below for more information about the conference.

We hope to provide accommodation to all who would be coming for the conference and a returning air fare for those who would be presenting Paper(s). If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.

The Linguistics Society of Papua New Guinea Conference
Proposed date:  20th - 21st September, 2011
Host:  Summer Institute of Linguistics (SIL-PNG)

Venue:  Training Centre, Ukarumpa, EHP
We are located near Kainantu which is approximately 10 km off the Highlands Highway and is quite close to Aiyura National High School and the Airstrip (accessible by Missionary Aviation - SIL, MAF, etc.)
Goal:
The goal of the conference is to bring together linguists, language educators, literacy workers and other interested members of the public to discuss and share with each other the knowledge scholars have made available from field research on Papua New Guinea languages, literacy issues, indigenous knowledge systems as well as language related issues that directly or indirectly affect the social, cultural, and educational development of this country and its people. Papers on linguistics, language, literacy and any other related topics are welcome for presentation during the conference.
Call for papers:
The Conference organizers are now extending the invitation to presenters and participants who are interested in attending or presenting Paper(s) during the Conference.

Interested individuals should forward the "Title(s)" and "one paragraph abstracts" of the Paper(s) they are hoping to present to any of the following people below by 15th August, 2011.
