Hi all,

Here are a few things coming up.

1)    Unichamps Social Events
2)    Clubhouse Closures 
3)    Batemans Bay Regatta


1)    Unichamps Social Events

ANUSC members who are not competing are invited to the social events. In addition if you have just discovered that you can compete we have hired extra boats and there are still 3 places available ring Tom O'Callaghan 0417 487 718. 

These will all be a lot of fun especially the Welcome BBQ and Games/Trivia Night which will be held at the clubhouse. If you are interested in any of these events the best bet would be to arrive at the clubhouse around 4-5pm when sailors are getting off the water and getting changed. Otherwise ring Todd Loydell 0401 016 243 or myself 0404 292 691.


Welcome BBQ (Saturday 19th around 5pm)

This is basically a huge party in the clubhouse with some interesting intervarsity traditions thrown in! It will start from when the competitors get off the water and finish getting changed (around 5pm). These events usually wrap up around midnight when those who want will go into Civic. Cost $10


Intervarsity 10 Pin Bowling (Sunday 20th around 7-8pm)

Bowlers will be divided into teams to make a mini interuni competition. 3 games, shoe hire and hot dog for $19. 


Games/Trivia and Pizza night (Monday 21st around 6 pm)

This will be another big party in the clubhouse! The cost will be $10


Presentation Dinner (Tuesday 22nd around 6-7pm)

The presentation dinner will be held at the Hogs Breath Cafe in Civic. You will get a 25% discount off the menu prices.


Race Start Times (each race will go for around 2-3 hrs)

Invitation Race: 11am Saturday 19th April
Race 1: 2pm Saturday 19th April
Race 2+3: 10am  Sunday 20th April
Race 4: 1pm Sunday 20th April
Race 5+6: 1pm Monday 21st April
Race 7: 1pm Tuesday 22nd April




2)    Clubhouse Closures

Clubhouse key hire is now closed until the end of the Unichamps. Key hire will close for winter at the end of the Easter holidays (4th May). There will still be some organised activities over winter however clubhouse keys will be unavailable until the new sailing season starts in September.




3)    Batemans Bay Regatta 26-27 April
 
The Batemans Bay Regatta is the traditional end of season regatta for sailors from around the region. We camp right next to where we launch boats, and have a campfire and some socialising in the evening. If you only make one regatta away from Canberra every year it has to be this one! Unlike the Uni Champs to crew at Batemans you will need a little experience (beginners course at the abolsute minimum; ask if you are unsure). To skipper you will need to have raced before as the conditions can be quite rough.
 
When: 26-27 April (some people will go down on the afternoon/evening of the 25th)
Where: Batemans Bay, 2 hours from Canberra.
