Sailing Practice (Thursday 27th November)

This Thursday 27th November from 4pm until around 7 or 8 an experienced sailor will be at the club to answer your questions and supervise your sailing. This will be a good opportunity to come down to the club when there are people there to sail with and help you rig. From then on the best time to sail will be Tuesday Nights during the Twilight Series (details below).


Port Kembla Klassic (29th-30 Nov)

The PK Klassic is a annual regatta at Port Kembla just south of Wollongong and open to all dinghies and catamarans. It is a good chance to sail on a coastal lake with a strong sea breeze. There are a couple of ANUSC members looking for crews and as usual with crewing positions lack of sailing experience is not a big problem although only experienced sailors should consider skippering a boat. If your interested give me an email u3299815 at anu.edu.au and I will try to match skippers with crews.


Twilight Learn To Race (starting 2nd December)

Starting on 2nd December on Tuesday Nights from 6-7:30 pm the YMCASC will be running Twilight Racing. This is a beginners series and is designed for those who have just completed a beginners course and want to learn how to race. As opposed to normal racing coaching powerboats will be on hand to give advice and assist you. This is an excellent opportunity to learn to race or just a good time to go sailing because it is supervised. There is no cost since it is paid by the ANUSC and there will also be an ANUSC member present to give you a hand.


Sailing Instructors Jobs

Both of Canberras AYF sailing schools are currently looking for instructors for weekend and school holiday courses. This is paid work and very flexible with the opportunity to do most of summer or just a couple of days. The pay is not great but it is a lot of fun with most of the instructors uni or college students. Obviously this would only be available to experienced sailors
