Hi all,

Reminder Drinks this Thursday (5th Aug 8pm @ uni bar)

With no sailing over winter its about time for another small social event! Since the last such event was 'Quiet Drinks' just before exams now that we are away from exam pressure its time for 'Less Quiet Drinks'. Less Quiet Drinks involves meeting at the uni bar at around 8pm, spending a few hours there and then deciding to go out somewhere. As with last time if you aren't available until later let me know (0404 292 691) so I can text you details of where we end up after the uni bar.

Australian Teams Championships

The Australian Teams Championships are in September in Perth. Uni Sydney is trying to organise a team. We can't organise a team but if you are a good sailor with enough money to travel to Perth let me know and you maybe able to join U Syd or an ACT Team.

Training Courses

The Semester 2 Sport and Rec program is out ( http://www.anu.edu.au/sport/2004_Semester2_Program.doc ) and it includes details of the Semester 2 beginners course in October. As usual bookings are at the SRA front desk.

The club is also looking at running another Windsurfing and Intermediate course. When details are confirmed these courses will be advertised within the club.

Hiking Trip Fri 13 - Sun 15 Aug

This is a Mountaineering Club thing not a Sailing Club thing but given that the club is quiet over winter Im advertising it anyway. Basically its a weekend hike with the Mountaineering Club organised by myself. Sailing Club members are welcome and you can hire gear from the Mountaineering Club. The location is the Budawangs National Park (between Braidwood and the Coast) and for those of average - above average fitness it is the most spectacular walking area within 2 hours of Canberra. If your interested get in contact with me.

cheers

Garrick
