Weekends to the coast



There are two weekends to the coast coming up. Both of them are open to all 2004 members even those who just signed up during O-Week and have not even been on a boat yet. The plan for the weekends is to camp next to the beach and spend the weekend relaxing without the pressure to race or compete. Come to sail, windsurf, surf, swim or simply relax on the beach. 



- Weekend To Jervis Bay 28th - 29th February (only 9 days away)



This weekend is combined with the ANU Mountaineering Club. This means that sailing opportunities will be limited but this is replaced by the chance to try a range of other activities such as sea kyaking, rock climbing, bushwalking etc. If you are interested contact Garrick Larkin u3299815 at anu.edu.au 0404 292 69.



- Weekend To Tuross Head 27th - 28th March (5 weeks away)



The club has been running trips to Tuross for several years now because it is an excellent sailing location as well as being able to hang out at the beach. Being coastal beginners will only be able to sail with experienced sailors although this has never limited anybody from having an awesome weekend. To register interest put you details down on the sheet at open day.





Sailing Courses 



- Beginners Sailing and Windsurfing Courses



The club has Beginners and Windsurfing courses this semester. Full details of beginners and windsurfing courses are available online at http://www.anu.edu.au/sport/Summer_program_0304.htm . Register at open day or on Monday at the SRA.



- Intermediate Courses



The club is running an intermediate course however the details differ from those in the Semester 1 2004 Sport and Recreation Program.



Cost: $100 students and $120 non-students (including club membership)



Dates: Saturdays 6 and 13 March

Open Day



When: Sunday 22nd February 12pm
Where: ANU Sailing Club, Alexandrina Drive Yarralumla Bay Yarralumla (map on back of this document).


The Club will be holding an Open Day from 12 noon with a free BBQ at our Clubhouse across the lake from the ANU. No prior experience is needed. Bring a change of clothes so you can enjoy sailing on the Lake.



Lifts will be available to the lake from the ANU. Meet outside the SRA at 12 noon.
