Hi all,

Just an email about Tuross as well as repeating info about the Open Day this Sunday and Training Courses.

Tuross Coast Trip 22-23 October.

Now that the weather is warming up its time to go down to the coast, hang out at the beach and relax before the exam period!

Basically this is a relaxing weekend hanging out at a surfbeach. The aim is for members to get to know each other so the traditional BBQ and beach party on Saturday night is just as important as the watersports! In terms of the watersports we will be bringing a collection of sailing boats, windsurfers and kayaks but there is no need to have any prior experience. In fact often people have had so much fun at the beach they forget about the boats and kayaks altogether.

Tuross is the ideal location for this weekend because it is only a 2.5hr drive from Canberra and has a surf beach as well as a sheltered lake for sailing or those not experienced enough for surf kayaking. In addition we are camping in a caravan park with full facilities and shops including a pub and cafe only 10 minutes walk away.

Like the last few Tuross Trips the Mountaineering Club will be joining us with their kayaks. As well as surf kayaks there are now sails for the sea kayaks!

If your interested either sign up via the automated trips page of the ANUMC website at http://anumc.anu.edu.au or send me an email on u3299815 at anu.edu.au .

During the seventeen-hour course you will receive a comprehensive set of notes detailing some basic sailing skills as well as the club's principle safety rules.
