Hi all,
Read below for extra info on Huge Days Out including the pretrip. This is an excellent trip and we are bringing boats and windsurfers so I hope to see lots of Sailors there!
Any problems or having trouble finding MCC 5 for the pretrip call me on 0404 292 691.
Huge Days Out (Next Weekend 24-26 Feb)
Huge Days Out is the annual ANU Mountaineering Club beginners and social weekend down at Jervis Bay. For the last few years the ANU Sailing Club has joined this trip bringing windsurfing and sailing to the mix. As well as sailing bushwalking, sea kayaking, rockclimbing and mountain biking are catered for, as well as snorkelling, swimming, lying on the beach and assorted silly games. We'll drive down on the Friday evening, and will car camp at honeymoon bay, returning sunday night. This trip is VERY POPULAR with 90 people last year so if your interested register.
Registering
If your interested you have to register online at http://anumc.anu.edu.au .
To register go to http://anumc.anu.edu.au --> click on 'Trip Calendar' --> click on 'Huge Days Out' --> click on 'Im Interested' --> click on 'Register' (you don't have to be a Mountaineering Club member)
With such a large trip registering online is the only efficient way of getting everybodies details! If you can't register online before the pretrip just turn up to the pretrip (you will still have to register online before the trip starts).
Pretrip Meeting
The pretrip meeting will be held tomorrow (Wednesday 22nd Feb). It will occur after the ANU Mountaineering Club welcome BBQ which starts at 5:30pm near the Hayden Allen Tank. The pretrip will be in Manning Clark Lecture Theatre 5 (MCC 5) and will begin after the Introduction to the ANUMC. The pretrip will probably start around 7:45pm - 8pm although it maybe slightly earlier or later. Note that the pretrip is compulsory unless you let Sam Keech-Marx the ANUMC Trip Leader know in advance. In other words if you miss the pretrip you will miss out unless you have made prior arrangements.
Money
The trip costs $50 and money will be collected IN ADVANCE at the pretrip meeting. If you don't pay in advance you will be encouraged to make a $10 donation to the Club (ie it costs $60). With such a large trip collecting money on the day is a nightmare for organisers so help out by bringing money to the pretrip! The $50 covers transport, equipment and campsite fees.
cheers
Garrick
