Hi,
The YMCA Sailing Club Tuesday Twilight learn to race program has started again after a break for the Christmas holidays. It was a lot of fun last week so I will be going again tomorrow and opening the clubhouse sometime around 6pm. We should be off the water around 7:30 which leaves a good hour or two of sailing.
For those with no interest in racing your welcome to turn up and do your own thing. The advantage of doing your own thing on a Tuesday night is that unlike other weeknights there are other sailors and rescue boats on the water who will probably offer a hand if they happen to see you in trouble.
If you want to expand your skills the twilights includes practice start sequences as well as mock races which are designed for those who have just finished a training course. In fact most participants are beginners who have just completed a beginners course so ANU members straight off beginners courses are at a comparable if not above average skill level!
Since its probably been a while since the last advert here are the details of the Twilight Program again
When: Every Tuesday from now until the end of daylight saving. (I will be there tomorrow)
Time: 6:00 - 7:30 pm (you should probably leave extra time for rigging although it doesn't matter if your late)
Cost: FREE because the ANUSC has already paid!
Where: ANU Sailing Club (racing just outside the bay the clubhouse is in)
cheers
Garrick
