Lake Burley Griffin given the all clear

The National Capital Authority has advised that Lake Burley Griffin is safe
for all recreational activity following bacterial testing of the water.


As a precautionary measure, the Sullivans Creek entrance into Lake Burley
Griffin was cordoned off yesterday following a raw sewage leak at the
Australian National University.


Test results today show that the levels of bacteria in the water are well
within the safe parameters.  
The NCA will continue to monitor water quality throughout the lake. Lake
user groups have been notified and warning signs will now be removed from
the exclusion area.

Good Morning,
Gull, Andrew and myself need some assistance in getting our fleet of boats
ready for the upcoming beginners course. There will be a working bee next
Wednesday at 1800 at the ANUSC. No experience is necessary, we pretty much
need to rig up the boats and check that they are in working order. One of
the best ways to do this is to take them for a sail.

Everyone is welcome to come along, yet again no experience is necessary and
it basically involves rigging a boat and going for a sail.
