Hello everybody,
To kickstart the year 2009, the Open Day of the sailing club is going
to take place this sunday (1st of March) at the boat house.
It starts at 12pm (you can come earlier, around 11:30am, to help rigg
the boat/start the BBQ/clean up a little bit the shed...).
The program of the day:
Warm welcome/registration @ 12pm
BBQ @ 12:30pm
Sailing course @ 2pm.
During the BBQ, experienced sailors will take out beginners for first
drives of our nice boats.
We provide food and soft drinks for the BBQ, and ice will be there to
keep anything you bring fresh.
The weather should be very sunny and warm, with a light easterly wind
of 7km/h (http://www.weather.com.au/act/canberra). This is a great
weather to enjoy a nice day out and sail for fun. Sunscreen will be
very important, especially on the water.
According to the National Capital Authority, the water quality levels
are good enough to allow any kind of on the water activity on our part
of the lake (http://www.nationalcapital.gov.au/corporate/media/media_release.asp?media_ID=332&mr_month=February&mr_year=2009
). There are hot showers at the boat house to use after sailing.
See you all on sunday
Best Regards
Jean-François
